Hello Lovelies,

I’m thrilled to share something close to my heart—a new pattern launch that’s been such a joy to create, especially as it holds a special connection to a delightful collaboration. As many of you know, back in 2023, I had the honor of being asked to design 15 quilts for the fabulous Lewis and Irene Autumn Winter Fabric ranges. It was an experience filled with creativity, laughter, and a shared love for beautiful fabrics, especially when I got to know the wonderful Hannah, their Creative Director and self-confessed office lunatic (I got permission to write that!).

Hannah and I instantly bonded over our mutual passion for design and our shared love of hearts—yes, those lovely little symbols that seem to fill our homes in the most unexpected ways! Inspired by this, and Hannah’s adoration for Bumbleberries, I created ‘The Hannah Quilt.’ This quilt features 16 heart blocks and a bright, modern design that’s perfect for confident beginners. While I chose Bumbleberries for my version, I’ve loved seeing how many of you have embraced it in your own color choices!

One of the things that makes Lewis and Irene fabrics so special is the personal touch behind every detail. During my time with Hannah, we shared endless laughter, and she revealed a delightful tidbit about the Bumbleberries name. The name Bumbleberries actually has a heartfelt connection—it was inspired by her super handsome son, Felix, whom she used to affectionately call Bumbleberry when he was a baby. When it came time to name the berry-shaped blenders, it was an easy choice to honor that special name!

Here is a picture of Hannah and her lovely Grandma, Irene, whose story touches the heart of every fabric they create. Lewis and Irene, the namesakes of this cherished brand, were much-loved parents and grandparents, and it’s truly special to see how their legacy continues to inspire such beautiful creations.

And speaking of love and creativity, I’m also excited to mention Lewis and Irene’s upcoming 10th Anniversary ‘Workshops in the Garden’ event this September. It’s a celebration of a decade of crafting joy, where you’ll have the chance to learn from some amazing designers in the beautiful surroundings of Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. It’s a perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of fabric and quilting, surrounded by nature and creativity.
